Pepelu, Diego López, and Hugo Duro, the goal scorers in the convincing victory for Valencia CF
A great victory for Valencia CF against Getafe CF (3-0) in the Matchday 35 of LALIGA EA Sports, played on Saturday at Camp de Mestalla. Thanks to goals from Pepelu, Diego López, and Hugo Duro, Valencia CF won with confidence and conviction, executing their game plan perfectly from start to finish and showing a competitive version of the team that gave no options to the visiting side from the south of Madrid, securing three crucial points.
After two attempts from the visitors, which Mamardashvili expertly saved, Diego López would surprise Soria in the 18th minute with a first-time shot (2-0) following a great recovery in the opposing half.
Valencia CF continued to dominate, persistently reaching the opposition goal. André Almeida could have made it 3-0 around the half-hour mark in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a perfect assist from Diego López, but David Soria read the play well and denied him.
However, Hugo Duro wouldn't be stopped, and he converted a second penalty in the 37th minute, making it 3-0 and effectively sealing the game. Hugo Duro could have even increased the score before halftime, but he just missed out on finishing off a dangerous ball into the small area from the right side.
With a clear advantage on the scoreboard after an excellent first half, the team demonstrated both football and effectiveness, following the tactics worked on during training at Ciutat Esportiva under the guidance of Carlos Corberán. The game went into halftime with over 43,000 spectators in the stands, all enjoying the team's progress. Valencia CF continues to improve collectively each week, knows their style of play, and is in good form heading into the final stretch of the season.
The team managed to maintain their advantage in the second half to secure a very important win, reinforcing the positive momentum.
